We collect your email address if you sign up for our newsletter, and the details you type if you send a message to a seller. Listing activity is explained below.
If you send a report through our Report an error form, we keep what you write, the link and email address if you add them, the page you came from, and your browser type, and we use them only to check the report and to reply if you ask us to.
We use your email to send the newsletter. We never sell or rent it to anyone.
Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link. Click it and you are off the list.
We use basic analytics to count visits and see which pages are popular. It does not identify you personally.
On pages for trailers listed by dealers we count visits, and taps on the call, email, website, and directions buttons, so dealers can see how their listings are doing. To tell new visitors from returning ones, your browser keeps a random number that we made up. It is not your name, your email, or details about your device. We do not use cookies for this, we do not store your IP address, and we do not use an outside analytics service for it. The random number is kept on our side only as a scrambled code that dealers cannot read.
If you send a message to a dealer, we link that random number to your message for 45 days. During that time the dealer can see whether you came back to look at their own trailers, how many times, and the last day. They cannot see what you looked at on other dealers' listings or on the rest of our site. We keep detailed counts for 35 days, viewer day records for 90 days, return visit summaries for 90 days after your message, and daily totals for about two years.
If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, we do not count you and we do not link your visits to a message. You can also turn counting off for this browser.
These counts are estimates. Grades are never for sale, and none of this changes a grade.
